AND BEAUTIFICATION GRANT PROGRAM

Address of the property, type of improvement, name, phone number
An application will be e-mailed to you. It is your responsibility to check your e-mail.
What can you do in the meantime?
Gather supporting documents
Call contractors for estimates for your improvements
Work with a real estate professional if purchasing a home within the City limits
Visit a lender to pre-qualify for a mortgage if purchasing a home within the City limits
What you will need to submit:
Applications will not be reviewed without the following:
Improvement Grants:
Project description
Contractor estimates
Completed W-9
Home Purchase Assistance
Need signed purchase agreement
Loan estimate from lending institution
Owners' occupancy affidavit
Completed W-9

2022 Housing Development and Beautification Program Guidelines

Housing Development and Beautification program funds can be used for the following purposes:
Substantial Redevelopment $5,000 grant assistance for eligible projects in excess of $20,000 per unit.
Contractor estimates required with application
$7,500 grant assistance for eligible new home construction. Developer budgets required with application
*other calculations and maximums may apply per project
Who can apply?
Anyone in contract to purchase property that will be owner occupied within the municipal boundaries of the City of Sandusky
What is eligible?
- Residential property containing 3 units or less
- Owner occupied and long-term rental property (short term rentals are not eligible)
- New construction of residential property
- Physical improvements to the dwelling that can be seen from the street
- Purchase of a home in the City of Sandusky
