City Receives Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting Award

The City of Sandusky is proud to announce that it has been awarded with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Governmental Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) for its 2022 Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.
The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management, according to GFOA.
"We are honored to receive the Certificate of Achievement from GFOA," said Michelle Reeder, City of Sandusky's Finance Director. "This award recognizes our dedication to transparency and high-quality financial reporting. It's a testament to our team's commitment and a clear signal to our community that we uphold the highest standards in governmental finance."

The GFOA initiated the award program in 1945 to encourage and assist local governments to go beyond the minimum requirements of accounting principles to prepare comprehensive annual financial reports that evidence the spirit of transparency and full disclosure and to recognize individual governments that succeed in achieving the goal.
